Don't let the gas station-esque style fool you- the sandwiches here are amazing! I particularly love the sliced (pork) chop sandwich and the shredded pork and lamb sandwich.
The meat in the chop sandwich is amazingly juicy and is brined or marinated in a solution that produces a perfect balance of saltiness and flavor.
The shredded pork and lamb sandwich is delicious! Neither meat overpowers the other in terms of flavor, and unlike pulled pork, the sandwiches aren't dripping with sauce and maintains its shape quite well!
Each sandwich is also a great deal, about $5 each, so I definitely would stop by if you're wanting to try out something new! -

Everyone needs a local deli shop. This just happens to be the best one in town. It's insane they use the same ingredients you get at the store, but they make it taste like nothing you've ever had before. Their turkey sandwiches are sublime. Their pimento cheese to die for. Plus they have an incredible liquor and beer selection. This place is the most happening deli spot in the city. 10/10 stars!

Fantastic deli in the highlands. $10 for sandwich, chips and side of pasta salad. Made fresh in front of you and great service. I still think Franks might be better only because the sandwiches are bigger.

Good sammiches at a cheap price! My family and I stopped in here to grab an accompaniment to the homemade potato salad we had at home. A French Dip sounded like a great idea. The roast beef (a good amount I might add) was on ciabatta bread and it came with a side of au jus. Yum! The sandwich was only about $5 and it was plenty big.
Other than the food there were plenty of other things to check out - booze, beer, condiments, fun signage, etc.
Great friendly staff, a few tables to eat at, fresh house-made Louisville favorites like beer cheese, pimento cheese, and Benedictine spread to-go. -

The only reason I would give Morris' Deli 4 stars rather than 5 is that the ciabatta bread was dry and crumbly. I usually have a 5 star experience at this old school Louisville gem but they were out of my favorite sourdough bread. Probably my fault for picking the ciabatta but it really made a difference in how I could rate my experience. When going to Morris', you order at the counter (primarily build your own sandwich or some BBQ options). I love building a sandwich here during lunch time and loading it up with most of the ingredients because they are so fresh. You can then pick up and drinks, sides, chips etc. from the store and sit down. Keep in mind there's only two tables in here and one small table outside so depending on how busy they are, you may have to take it to go. There is also a liquor store inside on here - if you need liquor. The staff will bring you your food with a smile on their face. Morris' runs on the honors system so you pay at the counter for whatever you ate, after you pick it up and eat it. Next time I return I want to try a dessert - the cookies and peach cobbler looked great.
